What the studio offers:
An escape from the humdrum of everyday life. A supportive space to create, relax and learn.
Lessons in various media including but not limited to acrylics, charcoal, pastels and pencils on a variety of surfaces.
Small intimate classes of no more than 6 ensuring which helps to ensure that one on one attention can be given to every student during the 2-hour lesson.
Guidance for each step of the way to creating something the student can be proud of.
Any and all skill levels are welcome.
Guidance with existing art projects.
Where the studio is located:
The studio is currently located at my father's home in Pinelands, at 19 Rheezicht Road. This is directly across from Pinehurst Primary School.
What to bring and wear:
Comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on are a must.
For the first lesson please see below, but after that just remember to bring whatever pieces you are wanting to work on (unless of course it is being stored at the studio) as well as any additional supplies you will be needing for those pieces.
What to expect during your first lesson?
All new students are required to start with the circles exercise. This not only helps me assess their skill level but also teaches colour theory, brush control, blending, creating crisp edges and paint consistency. Thereafter the student is free to do any project, in and on any media.
The required canvas panel and paint for this is supplied. The student then also receives their own set of paint brushes and a palette which can be stored at the studio.
